Errol’s hunting partner on this proposed safari was also in the movie featured in the video below, which, coincidently, was set on the same continent where their expedition waa planned to be.

I thought The Desert Song might sway some toward Bwana Bruce Cabot, but my sight was clearly off! The scope of talent here on the EFB is astronomical, even afronomical.
Plans were for these two Awesome Aussies to fly into Nairobi, which would have put them in shooting distance of both the Serengeti and Kenya’s own historic hunting grounds.
Interestingly, only a few years later, Big Bwana Flynn was wanted back in Nairobi for filming of King Solomon’s Mines, where he surely would have scored a trophy ”
for trailblazing filming of the first Lost World Genre book ever, with the adorable Deborah Kerr.
Here are the Big Five the Big Two were likely going to hunt, Bwana Karl – excluding, of course, their usual and primary prey, who were also often hunting them.

Errol and McEvoy Knievel would have visited Happy Valley, the old elephant stomping grounds and burial site of the Earl of Erroll. Due to delays while filming TAODJ, Suicide Freddie went on his own. I am still anxious to learn more about this trophyhunting topic, Gentleman Tusk.

I don’t know much else about this missedadventure shangheinz. Thank you for adding the postscript of Big Mac’s Flynnless visit I did not know he left for Happy Valley without Errol, though I’m not a bit surprised after learning there were weathy heiresses down Kenya way.
As you know as well as anyone else on Earth, Time Magazine summarized Suicide Freddie this way:
“At the Stork Club, in Paris, on the Riviera and in London’s West End, everybody who was anybody knew Freddy McEvoy. Born to obscurity, the tall, handsome, 44-year-old Australian had the gift of making friends, news, money, and marrying heiresses. His feats of derring-do on the high seas, in the game-filled jungles of Africa and on the icy ski runs of Switzerland gave the international set a vicarious sense of adventure, and earned him the nickname Suicide Freddy.”
It’s a good bet the two of them did some big dame hunting in Monte Carlo, too.
