Here’s an interesting clipping from an Italian movie magazine which proves that the original title of the William Tell film is not “The Story of William Tell”, but “Adventures of William Tell” – a reminiscence to other Flynn successes as”Adventures of Don Juan” or of “Robin Hood”.

Don’t know if that necessarily proves that as the original name, but it definitely shows it made sense to market it as “The Adventures of…” given Errol’s successes with those titles.–A. R.

Yep, it seems as if this was the original plan. Traditions are everything – just like all the German titles of his films where Errol is the “Master” of something…
