      The common denominator was Ann.

      She frequented the Caribbean, Africa, India,
      South Pacific, and some other other hot spots.

      Met Errol one night, during the late Roaring Twenties.

      Had a life long effect on Errol, and years later on many American GIs, too.

      The site of their first meeting is thought to have been New Britain, but it may have been New Guinea.

      Errol was not pleased with the effect Ann had on his life.

      One of the most successful authors of all time wrote about Ann during World War II. Many GIs read what he wrote and heeded his warnings. He was successful before the war but much more so after the war, ultimately becoming a household name.

      Ann was one of Japan’s most effective allies against American, Australian, and British forces.

          Hi Claudia! Not gonorrhea, but that’s an excellent guess!

          Ann was actually responsible for more American, Australian, and British casualties in New Guinea than the Japanese. But Errol was a casualty years earlier.

          Though it was certainly not Ann’s aim, the first flu vaccine in history was developed due in part to her.

            Malaria. Dr. Suess wrote the pamphlet for soldiers in World War II, particularly in the Pacific.

              Yes, indeed. It was no less that Dr. Zeuss, who treated GIs to an early peak at his unique talents. Am I suffering malarial delusions, or does Ann look a bit like the yet to be published cat in the ye to be published hat?
