    Tim, is the “it” the Cock ‘n Bull pub in Los Angeles way back when, and the “he” John Barrymore? But I don’t know how those two are connected. Does this have something to do with the prank w/Barrymore’s body?

      That’s it, Barb! The alleged Weekend at Errol’s! J.B. died on Friday, May 29, 1942, with the prank ensuing on Saturday and/or Sunday. Errol was at the Cock and Bull trying to drink away his sorrows over the death of his idol, friend and mentor (and, it was erroneously rumored in some quarters, his illegitimate father.)

      As a young man, John Barrymore was very seriously in love with Evelyn Nesbit, the (in)famous Girl on the Red Velvet Swing.
