Insane what he had to endure. People were using him left and right. He tried to understand what was going on.

Thank you for this timely letter from Ada Klock, Karl and David!! Not only does it provide an intriguing view into the stateside problems plaguing Errol in late ’54, it also includes a fascinating list of names involved in the cause and potential resolution of those problems, problems involving Lili, Nora, Mulholland, and the Taxman.

I find it intriguing that Ada S. Klock (a rarely heard name outside of the motion picture industry, both in D.C. and Hollywood) would express that “no one else” knew “more about [Errol’s] affairs [in Hollywood] than [him].” The tenor of Mister Klock’s timely letter seems as though it MAY be somewhat extortionary, a selfish effort to keep Errol from terminating his services. Errol’s question mark in the margin along side that curious comment may be an expression of dismay over that comment? That’s just a reading-between-the-lines guess on my part. I have no knowledge of what, if any, friction or lack of trust there was between Errol and Ada.

Also curious is that Klock disparages Robert Ford so openly and extensively, apparently attempting to sow seeds of distrust and discord between Errol and Ford. Additionally very interesting that Klock would brag to have connections to California’s Governor Goodwin Knight (through Robert Eaton’s wife, Marilyn Knight Eaton, the Governor’s very well known daughter, and former First Lady.) Was Ada Knight really that high-powered, or just a big name-dropper desperate to stay connected with Errol Flynn?

Reading about “Julie and John”* and Paul (and Erica) Korody, and is also most interesting. I’d like to know more about all of them. Here are photos of the Korodys:

    * Anyone in Flynnland know anything about “Julie and John”, especially their last names?
If so, please let us know. Thanks.

Yes, David, thank you. I should have said Miss Klock! Before commenting, I did see in genealogical records and U.S. Congressional records that she was born in 1899 in D.C., and was involved there as the “Motion-picture Chairman for the. ‘District of Columbia’ Congress of Parents and Children in 1936 before moving to LA by the time of the 1940 federal census.

Do you know anything more about her, especially how she allegedly came to ~ “know more about Errol’s affairs in Hollywood than anyone else”!?

Also, David, do you have any info on “Julie and John”, who Ada discusses in her letter to Errol?

        Thanks!
