David’s outcry made me think! Much as morbid curiosity may go, I too would rather not see Errol that way! So if I may be indulged, I would like to share two of my favorite photos.
In the studio publicity shot showing the more mature Errol, he kind of reminds me of my father. (At least how I remember him.) (In the words of the American musical group from “Motown Records”, the Temptations, “Papa was a rolling stone!” Sort of like Errol was to Sean.) ( Those who are familiar with the Temptations’ recording, might agree.)
Any way I hope you enjoy and let’s remember, “They died with their boots on!”–A. R.

And why is the shot from Boots another of your favourites? Btw, a good idea actually: each of us could share his favourite photos of Errol and say why they are.

I could simply answer, just look at the photo. Isn’t it obvious, it’s such a great shot! But if you would like more: First its in color and its one of the first photos I had of Flynn and which started my celebrity photo collection. ( I also have photos of Marilyn Monroe, Barbara Carrera, Salma Hayek, Dawn Wells and Angela Cartwright among others.) (You can check out the actresses you are not familiar with @ imdb.com….)
Also, Flynn has such a noble stance.in this shot. (Makes you wish the real Custer was someone that noble. Also makes one wish the film had been shot in technicolor, not just later colorized.)
I think your idea is a good one. It would be a great way to acknowledge that “Flynn still lives!” So let’s run it by David. I’d like to see what picture in his collection is a favorite, as well as yours.–A. R.

That’s why I asked, A.R. – have you got the photo in a bigger resolution than the one you posted here? Because when I look at it, I find that Errol looks a little sick, not as good as in oter pics, so that’s why I would not rank it amongst my favourite. So it’s very interesting to see the others’ favourites.

On my computer, the picture is very clear. Also when I click on the picture itself you can see it in a larger view. So if you haven’t tried that, I suggest you do. Any way to me in the original full size photo it appears to me as I described. So if David feels this is the proper venue, then I would be very interested in your favorite, since you have shown you have a very extensive collection.(and especially since “favorite” is such a subjective word. For ex. Flynn as Custer in this photo has a noble stance for me; to you he appears sick–subjective.)–A. R.

I know that my skepticism sounds a little odd and I’m still not sure what it is about this picture that makes me feel a little uneasy. I think it is his eyes. They have such a strange stare, I think they are the reason that give me goosebumps. Sorry!
As for my favourites, I’m still contemplating. I’ve narrowed it down to four or five, but can’t decide which two of them. So I’d suggest someone else take a turn first.

You may be right about the strange stare. After all it was called “Custer’s Last Stand” for a reason. Maybe he is picturing all those Sioux and Cheyenne about to attack. Any way it is still one of my favorites, even if it isn’t one of yours. So take your time. I’m sure you will have something that will really show that “Flynn Still Lives!”–A. R.

Maybe Mary Ann or somebody else would like to take a turn? I just can’t decide…

That is a good idea ILIKEFLYNN and Inga about our favorite Errol photos. I have at least 2 of my favorites that I would like to share myself.

So there you have it. Feel free to post your favorite (or favorites) here, with one exception. If your favorite picture is one of Errol on a slab, then you are at the wrong blog!–A. R.

This is one of my favorites of Errol. He looks very urbane and gentlemanly, and in good health. Yes, I tampered with the inscription!

Great shot! This appears to be from the same period as the favorite of mine on the right. Love the suit. Where did Errol get his clothes? Are those the famous Flynn cufflinks I see? Thank you for posting it. Flynn still lives!–A. R.

Not sure of the cuff links but that MAY be the cigarette holder that Deirdre Flynn gave to Jack Marino that I have held in my hands at Jack & Louise Marino’s 100th Centennial Birthday party in Burbank in 2009 for Errol. Many of us tried on one of Flynn’s raincoats, too – including the women, that Bev Aadland’s daugher brought to the party – Woodsie herself was too ill at the time to make the long drive out to Burbank, unfortunately. What a party that was!

Thanks for sharing David, but tell me when you tried on the raincoat was it too big for you, like Errol’s shirt was for Oliver Reed?–A. R.

Oh, yeah! I was at least two inches shorter than Errol – and now, at 63, have lost a half inch off my usual 5′ 11″ frame according to my last check-up! The only guy who came close in my sight of things was Robert Florczak – I did not see Carl Z try it on, but it was actor William Smith who flung it over his shoulder in one hand, knew how to spin around with it – and slide it over his huge shoulders and brother, it fit him!

Thank you for sharing. Sounds like it must have been some hell of a party! One that would almost rival any held at Mulholland Farm!–A. R.

I have finally decided, these are 3 of my favourites (although there are many more that are very very close):
ooops… I just noticed I cannot upload pictures here directly from my computer, so I will make a new post.
