This is a great find Tim. To listen to Brian Doyle for The American Scholar so eloquently describe Errol along with John Wayne and Peter O’Toole was so enjoyable. We always knew Errol and Peter were exceptional in many ways. I never appreciated John Wayne until 2 weeks ago when I decided to take the plastic wrap off a John Wayne Action 3 pack I received last Christmas. Island in the Sky was one and I never saw it in all my 73 years excellent !!!

Thanks, Bob. I agree with you, Brian Doyle was eloquent and enjoyable …and very down to Earth for a scholarly publication. So glad you listened to the audio in addition to reading the article.

Brian Doyle was a very fine man as well as a great writer. It appears he became to a fan of Flynn shortly before his tragically much too early death, at the age of only 60. God rest and bless your soul, Brian Doyle.
