One month from today – on June 20, 2021 – the Errol Flynn Blog will host our Second Annual Global Birthday Toast to Errol. All EFB Flynnmates are invited to raise a glass (cup, bottle, or can) to the greatest swashbuckler of all time, Our Man Flynn. As was done very successfully last year, all Fans of Flynn from around the world are invited to join us. And this year there’s no need to stay at home and wear a mask while toasting!
Drinks representative of your location are encouraged. As examples, Errol is known to have imbibed Bundaberg Down Under – Jack Roses in Manhattan – Bloody Marys in Burbank – Whiskey in LA – Vodka in London – Rum and Coca-Colas in the Caribbean, Wines, Beers, and Champagne in Europe, etc etc etc. Drinks need not include alcohol. of course. Errol also drank coffee, and enjoyed tea, often with orange blossom honey. A more detailed list will be provided in coming days. It would be great if our toasts included regional specialties – Margarita’s in Mexico, Gins in the British Empire, Guinness in Ireland – et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Anything that’s good Flynn fun.
Eleven days later, all Fans of Flynn are also invited to toast Olivia. July 1 will be her first birthday on the Other Side. From France every year, Olivia toasted Errol on his birthday, with champagne, of course.
…
All are welcome and encouraged to let us know with what you’ll be toasting, and from where. And please encourage all your Flynnmates to join in like Flynn Fans here!
Cheers, Salud, Slainte, A Votre Sante, Prost, Cin Cin, Skal, Gesondhaid, Akale Maluna, Felicidades, 干杯, Ypa, 乾杯, and Oogy Waha!
😄🍹🍷🍸🥃🍾

P.S. Since last year I worked on two music video that were filmed in the Netherlands. Here’s the one that was filmed outdoors:

Maybe a new tradition is born. Me being the first to sign up.
I didn’t see any video (or link to it) in your reply. I am curious to see it. Do you live in Europe?

Yes, you deserve a prize for two first place finishes, Debby! At a minimum, you could make your drink to Errol a double!! Next year, if you win the Triple Crown, a triple!!!
Speaking of triples, though I live in Florida, the video I referred to (and briefly had posted) was filmed near the triple border of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. I’ll repost it for you.

For those who can it would be great to make your toast from a location with some connection or relevance to Errol’s life. As chronological examples, that could include:
From Hobart to Sydney; South Africa; England and Ireland; Northeast Australia, New Guinea; the Phillipines; Hong Kong; along the coasts of Eastern Asia Ceylon and India; Northeast Africa; all through the Mediterranean; England, Ireland, North Ireland, and Scotland, all through Western Europe, most especially France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Monte Carlo; Morocco and North Africa; New York; Chicago; LA and all throughout California; Hawaii; all through Mexico; Florida; all throughout the Caribbean, most especially Jamaica, Cuba. and the Bahamas; all the locations in South America and Central America on his Pan America and Cruise of the Zaca tours; New Orleans; Arizona and Nevada; Alaska; Korea; Central India; French Equatorial Africa; Vancouver.
And travels in between, by land, by sea, by air.
…Perhaps it would have been easier to list where he didn’t travel☺

I‘ll definitely join again this year, Toastmaster Tim. As travel options are still quite limited here in Bavaria, I‘ll probably toast Errol at home in Munich with a bottle of Augustiner Edelstoff or Andechser Doppelbock.

WOW, Claudia! Wunderbar! What sensational selections those are!! Errol will love you toasting with either of them, I’m sure!! (….just as long as that J.W. on the Augustiner Edelstoff doesn’t stand for you-know-who :-)) (Warner wasn’t around in 1328, was he?)
As long as the J.W. doesn’t stand for you-know-who

Haha, good one, Tim! I don‘t think the J.W. you mean was THAT old.
In fact the J.W. stands for Josef Wagner who took over the brewery in the 19th century – quite a while before the other J.W. was born.

To Bob (Schaffer):
In case you’re in a Londontown kind of mood on June 20th, you might want to toast Errol with one of his Russian Red Hot Pepper Vodkas!

Easier to do with Absolute Peppar!

Or you can infuse straight vodka with your own red hot chili pepper…

Thank the Flynnematic gods above,, J.W. doesn’t stand for JW, Claudia! Because I’m longing to taste some of that there Augustiner of yours, and now that you’ve convinced me J.W. of Beverly Grove wasn’t around in 1328, then I’m all in on the Edelstoff. Besides – as I may have mentioned before () – my favorite float in the Munich Octoberfest of 1983. I still have a photo of her waving to me, I mean driving by!
Anyhoo, here’s that other J.W., with E.F. and M.D. Each of whom look like they may have been toasting a bit themselves.

An avid movie fan, my days are not complete without seeing one of his movies or reading books about him. Without a doubt, the most exciting character to ever live. At 75 year old, I only wish I had known him and spend a day with this exciting man.
