I am reading this remarkable book “Natalie Wood: The Complete Biography” by Suzanne Finstad about the life and mysterious death of the tragic film star. It is impossible to put down and Errol Flynn is not mentioned in it at all. Flynn has always been brutally criticized and attacked for many things, especially his relationship with the teenage Beverly Aadland. In this book, author Finstad details a sordid relationship with a 15-year-old Natalie Wood and a famous crooner actor star who was 39, and in the middle of a divorce from his glamorous movie star wife. His illicit relationship with the underage Natalie Wood actually had the full approval and blessing of her ruthless mother who thought this Oscar-winning film star/singer would elevate her career to full movie stardom.
I have no illusions about Errol Flynn who was no saint. Neither was he a hypocrite unlike many others in Hollywood then and now.

Thank you Ralph. Errol was totally not bad. He did nothing that deserve my contempt or hatred. Nothing at all.
He loved Bev and she loved him. Many actors, royals and nobles had relationship with under 18. Not a crime in my eyes. 15 was legal in europe. 16 was legal in many US states. My aunt married at 16. Charlie Chaplin did it, Elvis did it and many others yet Errol is chastized for it. He lived. I envy him. He was not a saint bit guess what? I dont like saints at all. BORING!!!!

When Belli (i dont like him..he was there to supposedly help Bev as a friend of Errol, but he tried to exploit her) sued Errol estate on Bev behalf for 5 mio..the judge laughed. The lies written by another lawyer to incriminate Errol were lies and Bev didnt even know about them. She learned what was written later on and was pisst. The judge laughed. He said Errol wasnt guilty as she gave her consent.

Plus it was legal as Errol had her mom approval and that was all that was nedded. So rumors stating that police was after him are BS

Flynn, was the most maligned star in Hollywood’s history. Natalie Wood’s daughter recently revealed that Kirk Douglas raped her sister Natalie when she was fifteen. This has been going on since Charlie Chaplain with under age girls. The moguls took advantage and used the girls. Harry Cohen, and Zanuck were horrible. Women threw themselves at FLynn. Compared what was going on with the directors ,moguls and other actors, Flynn was an amatuer . But Flynn was made the fall guy until this day. Same thing with his military service. John Wayne was a heathy man, and did not serve; citing that he had a family to raise. Flynn tried to serve, and was turned down by every branch of the armed forces. But look who makes himself out to be General Patton, John Wayne.. Yet Flynn again was the person pilloried for not serving. Same with remarks that Flynn was racist. His daughter Deidre said her father wasn’t anti-anything. Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne, Walter Brennan. Walt Disney, and many others made racist statements. Just read Wayne’s 1971 Playboy article, Appalilng.. Once again it is Flynn who is made the scapegoat..as a racist, Was Flynn a choir boy no, but if
we are to be fair then why do these other stars get a pass
for doing a lot worse. Many critics wrote that he is only playing himself in his movies. I would like to see someone imitate Flynn’s voice, and mannerisms. It can easily be done for Cagney, Kate Hepburn, Davis, Bogart, Robinson, Brando and Cary Grant.. Not with Flynn. If he was merely playing himself in movies like Robin Hood, then Errol Flynn wasn’t as wicked as he or his detractors would have us think.

That Beverly’s mother approved the relationship doesn’t make it legal. I am sure he loved her, but he was also quickly bored and near the end of his life.

A mother does not have the right to give a parental consent for her 15 year old daughter to “date” a much older man. This is compounding child sexual abuse. You can absolutely be prosecuted for having sex with a minor whether you asserted the mother consented in her daughters place or not. This type of consent does not exist. I am not judging Flynn on this point, as I believe he just wasn’t thinking things out at this point in his life. Both his parents were livid that he would put himself in sure peril again after the rape trial. He could of have gone to prison , and that would of ruined his legacy.
