    He seemed to be very fond of animals/creatures of every kind. He always had some kind of dog or other critter running about him. His love of nature and preservation was told over and over again by his family and friends in many interviews I have watched. I watch his movies frequently and his horse, monkey, dogs and other animals appear in many of his films. It sort of makes the film personal to him alone. Joanna

      True Joanna. In the beginning Arno was his steady companion. Like FDR he was very fond of his terrier.
