    Just like we used to say in the 1970’s, “Star Trek Lives” so does Errol.
    I especially love the news writers last name.

    I forgot to mention that I have yet to get either of these films, “Cuban Story” or “Rebel”. I have seen enough of thelatter on YouTube to make me pass it by. There are so many others to get first.

      Both of these films are intensely interesting to me because of the view you get of not only the way Errol looked in those years but of the historic times he was living in. We see in Cuban Story documentary images not available in such an intimate, man on the street, way, and I think it is a valuable contribution to recording the historic events and moods of the country at the moment of Revolution – to some extent Cuban Rebel Girls also reveals the times. Errol’s contribution to Cuban Story is minimal and he was not at his best but he was trying to carry a patriotic message forward and to combat despotism. We see his efforts with the benefit of hindsight and poor Errol was unaware as was the world of what was about to happen – he was reliving his youthful trip to Spain, as well, as a War Correspondent. Writing was an essential urge in him and he was, I dare say, always thinking about it in some form or another. Cuban Rebel Girls has a bad reputation but there are some things in it that are worthwhile for the Flynn scholar. And Beverly Aadland’s performance is that of a young actress gaining some experience. If she had developed further as an actress I believe she would have become a competent actress and had a career. Don’t laugh. Paul Newman turned out pretty good after The Golden Chalice!

        I thought this was by John Rathbone a very thoughtful, well-written article on Errol’s time in Cuba.

        As for “Cuban Rebel Girls” it is a wretched, ten-cent production with a dying Errol Flynn disgracing his own memory.

        Warner Archive has just released a complete set of the “Perry Mason” movies. There are six in the set which were produced by Warner Brothers in an attempt to create their own version of the “Charlie Chan” series at Fox.

        Errol Flynn’s first American film “The Case Of The Curious Bride” is one of the six!

          I have had a VHS (remember them?) copy of “The Case of the Curious Bride” for many years.
