Hey Hey Nora…

16 Sep

Dear Flynnstones,

the next line in an old song goes like this: … I want to marry you…

This picture may be the earliest testimonial, maybe at a sort of coming out party, of Errol and his future wife, Nora Eddington.

If I am not mistaken, it dates right after Flynn‘s acquittal at „the trial“.

It can even be taken in the immediate aftermath, since our Hollywood hero wears a pinstripe suit and the exact tie as at the verdict’s proclamation.

You see him talking to the press, obviously relieved and back to his daredevilish attitude again.

Enjoy,

PS: Miss Blanca Rosa Welter meanwhile probably had an appointment at the dentist.

A very lucky girl, indeed. She was plucked out of a concession shop at the courthouse into a date with the best looking man of all times. Of course, this is my opinion. I think she was adorable, too. She seemed to have a lot of personality and he must have been attracted to that. She always seemed very gay and happy. Beautiful smile.

Sorry to say, Heinz, but this photo was taken around mid January of 1946 during making of Escape Me Never.

Thank you for the info, Inga! That date would be 4 years after trial‘n‘Errol and one year before Rory‘s birth. Nora looks so young and happy and our Hollywood hero merely relaxed.
The pic shows Flynn and Linda Christian allegedly in 1943, on Feb. 3.

Ro Flo just let me know that the picture in the post dates from March of 1945 at Ciro’s with Errol sans mustache but avec sideburns. Above you see the Flynngtons at the Mocambo Nightclub on August 22 of 1947 with Frankie Boy for once taking a backseat.
