Remember the link I posted a while ago about the discussion concerning a picture from Brian? The question was: was Errol’s beard the “Kim” beard or the one from “Wife for the Czar”? I finally managed to take some screen shots from “Wife for the Czar”, and here is the result, together with a picture from “Kim” and Brian’s. I would say Brian’s picture was taken at the time of “Kim”. What is your opinion? (You can click on the picture to see it larger.)

It was an episode from “The Errol Flynn Theatre”. A series for TV.

I would say that the picture in the top right corner, I guess it is the one from Brian, is from the time of “Kim”
To my recollection and please correct me if I am wrong, the movie “Hello God” is a WW2 movie and Errol represents a soldier – right? If so, he can’t have a beard! All soldiers are clean shaven I think that is army regulation?
Are there any soldiers amongst us who could verify this? It could be the answer to the question – maybe?

Yes, Tina, that’s correct, the top right hand picture is the one from Brian. If you have a little time, scroll down and you find an old post from me, “Interesting discussion” or something like it, where I linked to it and someone also brought up this your very clever point: soldiers don’t have beards. But who are the two people shown with Errol? And in which connection was the photo taken? That’s the mystery… Take care, Tina!

I see what you mean, but as to the two boys in the picture that is anybody’s guess. Maybe they participated as soldiers or extras in the movie ‘Hello God” and Errol shaved off his beard the next or days thereafter – just a wild guess. Who knows?

I agree that the beard in question for the alleged “Hello God” photo certainly looks like Errol Fynn’s beard from “Kim”.
American soldiers are generally clean-shaven in peace and war. However under combat conditions, soldiers may not have an opportunity to shave, so you would have a facial stubble but never a neatly trimmed beard!
