Ever since I saw this photo, I’ve been wondering where and in what context it was taken. It took me quite some time to figure it out. Are you smarter? I think so. So tell us: is it a movie still, candid or press photo? In which context was it taken and who or what is Errol looking at? I won’t comment on any guesses until there are at least ten. (Yes, this is blackmailing to see who is still out there…)

KNOCK KNOCK IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?? Just us old pirates! Errol looks to be in his 40’s there and it looks like a still but not sure. Maybe the mid 50’s like King’s Rhapsody or Let’s Make Up???????? Stumped!LOL!

Well I too would have guessed “King’s Rhapsody” except I’ve never seen “King’s Rhapsody”. But if I were to guess “King’s Rhapsody” then my guess would be he is looking at his then wife and costar, Patrice Wymore. But I think I will guess, “Lilacs in the Spring”” and his looking at or talking to Anna Neagle.–A. R.

It looks like “Lilacs in the Spring”, a very hard movie to find but once again Errol proved he could master any role.

Hello Everyone;
Just looking into the blog which I haven’t done for a long time I thought I maybe should put my 5 cents into the pot.
Just of the top of my head I would say he is looking at the Police Inspector Nural or Mr. Fielding in “Istanbul” and of course I could be very wrong – just a wild guess!
With my guess that should make it 10 and we should get the answer from sneaky Inga giving us brain wrenching puzzles!

Hello everyone, thanks for guessing. Although we have had 7 guesses only, here comes the answer. To summarise: Les and Robert were the first ones on the right track. But Les did not make a final decision and Robert missed the second part of the question.
Then A.R. got the answer completely right, which is a miracle without having seen the film, BUT then changed his mind!!! Oh my, what a shame!
Sorry to Ralph, Jim and Tina that your guesses were not correct.
Captain Thorpe again got half of the answer correct but was not correct on who Errol was looking at.
Now… who is the winner? I don’t dare to decide. But it would be great if one of those who got at least parts correctly would feel like posting a new question.
