Thanks for sharing this David. I had thought this would be enjoyable to Errol Flynn fans. Allow me to make a few things clear. I am aware that there is a photograph in that clip of a man that resembles Flynn but is not Flynn. I don’t care. The producers are aware that photo is not Flynn and I understand it will not be used in the final cut. I am not a producer on this film; I am not a director on this film; and I am not a screenwriter on this film. I am a voluntary talking head. The creative decisions on this documentary are out of my control, as well they should be. I support the producers and their right to follow their own creative vision. I volunteered solely for the purpose of offering enthusiastic commentary on Errol Flynn while embracing a positive response in a public venue regarding the Cuban people who remain subjected to an unfortunate communist regime. I prepared extensively for this participation and gave it everything during one long afternoon. I am content with my effort. I am also content accepting that during this interview I may have misspoken, flubbed a fact, stammered and blundered. Such is life. You have the right to shoot my book, shoot the video or in some way satisfy yourself. Have at it. After sharing this clip with numerous friends and Flynn fans in several groupings of emails I quickly heard back from a dozen people, half of which were negative. I want to thank those of you that “get it” and I do mean that sincerely. The other half are a reminder that absence makes the heart grow fonder. Thomas Pynchon is my hero, and my goal is re-affirmed as By-Bye Buckeroos. There is a reason why I don’t participate in these forums very often. Finally, I think this will be a unique documentary. It is far from completed. Those clips are rough draft teasers. There is so much more to the Cuban people than Castro would have you believe, and ditto for our Tasmanian friend. I will not be responding to any further comments. By the way, the login password verification feature on this blog is far more difficult than having sex while swinging on a chandelier. Just sayin’. Thank you and enjoy yourselves.

P.S. Is the chandelier comparison made on the basis of scholarly Errol Flynn research, or first hand experience?

Negative? What the hell? Yeah, those people very obviously don’t “get it” at all … As you are not going to comment further, I am reminded of something my father used to tell us boys about such people: “…fuck ’em, and the horse they rode in on …” and you may quote my father, Earl DeWitt! I thought you did a wonderful job, and as to mistakes and flubs, I recall Linc Hurst telling me that all you can do is the best you can do and it is always true that later you realize what you could have said, or added, or what you accidentally misquoted, etc. However, that is what editing is for, and if you know you messed up, you can tell them about it and something may or may not be done about it – the rest is is not in your hands, as you say. Linc came off pretty damned good in all of his many appearances in various documentaries and you, Sir, stood in good stead, and made your pals proud of you!
