Thank you, Inga! My fantasy is that Errol had stayed healthy and played Obi Wan Kenobi in the original “Star Wars”. (He would have only been 67 during filming) Errol dueling Darth Vader with a lightsaber!
In honor of Errol on the day of his passing, I’d like to share a favorite image. I call it “The Team That Never Was”. When Errol was loaned to MGM to make “That Forsyte Woman”, the studio took advantage and arranged a photo with all of their stars. Since they were seated alphabetically, that put Errol Flynn right next to Clark Gable. I believe it’s the only photo of the two legends together. What could have been!
Yes, that’s a beautiful rendering of Errol…Well done, Inga, and thank you for sharing it with us! I also like seeing these photos of Errol and Clark Gable. My grandmother passed away in March of this year, and Clark Gable was her fave actor from Hollywood’s Golden Era. As for Errol’s passing…next year it’ll be 55 years — wow! Well, he lives on forever in his films. :-)
In the Sydney Telegraph newspaper they have a ‘History on this day’ page & on the 14th October they printed a lovely photo of Errol which read beside it ‘1959 – Australian born Hollywood star Errol Flynn dies, aged 50’.
Sail In Peace Mr Flynn, because of your timeless movies, you will never be gone. :)

Funny Errol went there in costume… it’s a pity the original photo is so small…

Amen, Inga. Still, his magnificent spirit remains.
