Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity & great pleasure to attend the Florida Symphony’s fantastic performance of Erich Korngold’s exquisitely beautiful Violin Concerto in D Major.

Thank you for the post. Maestro Korngold and Ms. Hahn make beautiful music together. Thank you for sharing! By an interesting coincidence I just happen to have pulled out my copy of “Captain Blood”, which I had not watched in awhile and hearing that opening fanfare reminded of Flynn’s classics and their classic scores. Flynn was blessed by having Korngold as well as Steiner score his films–A. R.

My pleasure & honor, A.R. You’re so very right. Errol provided unparalleled inspiration and opportunity for Warners & their top talents, Korngold & Steiner preeminently among them. Sea Hawk is particularly amazing – soaring & sublime. And with Errol & Olivia , Steiner reaches heights so wondrously romantic & poignant, it’s also a zenith in film music history.
Having young Mr. Flynn in the line-up opened up possibilities never available before or since. We are blessed it was all put on film.
