An Omelette at the Mocambo

29 Apr

Most people would end up with egg on their face after such a public rumpus. Not Our Man Flynn.

Egg’strordinary, Lollie! And sunnyside-up, just like Errol himself.

BTW, McEvoy was involved in the scramble, too:

More from the Mocambo, Lollie. Evidently something in the food there got the girls feelin’ feisty – feisty enough to take on Errol Flynn! (please notice – not wanting to offend anyone — despite the many humorous possibilities – I deliberately did not use the word ‘fork’!)

I love how Errol commented that she ‘used the wrong fork’. :D It is a wonder he kept going back there.Never a dull moment around the big boy.Terrific! Thanks for posting those Tim & yes that scene in a movie would be hilarious.Good ‘Ol Errol. :)

    Very poor etiquette, Mrs. Fidler.

And here’s Fillmore Wellington “Phil” Ohman & His Orchestra, who saved the day by ending the melee with the Star Spangled Banner:

P.S. If anyone ever does a screenplay including this melee at the Mocambo, I recommend Phil Ohman’s rendition of the National Anthem be preceded by his perfectly suited & much more well known “Isn’t This a Lovely Day?” Wouldn’t this be a great soundtrack to the whole spectacular scene!?! … From Flynn strolling into the “star-studded club”, to his confrontation with and ultimate slapping of Jimmie Fidler, to Bobbi Fidler’s stabbing of Errol in the ear with a fork, to Lupe Velez cheering Gentleman Flynn on with “give it to him, big boy.” How great would all that be!?!
