I just ordered this film and it will be the first time in many years that I have seen it. I think I have seen it all the way thru but now I will have it in my collection. Ruth Roman is very nice and I enjoyed her in The Far Country with James Stewart which I hope will be put on Blu Ray some time since it is a great film but does not hold up to LED screens. I never saw it on a CRT but I am sure it looks much better on those.

Aside from being exceptionally attractive, Ruth Roman must have had great survival instincts – surviving both the wreck of the Andrea Doria, and Maru Maru!

Mara Maru is a terrific film.Watching Errol’s movies throughout his career shows what a truly brilliant actor he is and that he could play any type of role,so effortlessly too.I just re watched one of my favourite EF movies That Forsyte Woman again on the weekend and he is incredible in that,I definitely recommend that movie to anyone. :)

Ok I just finished the film and enjoyed it. Good picture quality that is just as good as the best DVD’s for Flynn out there. Although I wish it had a bit more action and a bigger budget it was well made and Flynn does not play an unrealistic hero but a human being which is just what he did in many of his 1950’s films. It is a bare bones release with just the film and the standard Archive menu which really is not menu at all, just instructions on how to use the remote. The fact that it’s available is a good sign for the future and is a must have for Flynn fans. I am not sure anyone else would enjoy it other than vintage movie fans. It ends on a high note which is great since many films cheat us with the ending as that seems to be the part that gets the least amount of thought. Not so with this film. It is non stop for the last real. I was thinking today that the film has a modern feel to it. I only wish we could have gotten more out of Flynn in the 50’s and I think he would have outdone Cary Grant.
