What a post! with all the quotes you have posted you get a real insight into Errol Flynn. He didn’t put constraints on himself and never liked them being put on him. If he was as happy as he said in one of those quotes it definitley had to be from living in the moment have tried this myself and it works. Way ahead of his time, that is the type of thing they teach you in cognitve behavioural therepy, happy birthday

Fascinating collection of quotes, errolsfan. Thank you! … My sense of things is that Errol took life much more seriously than he publicly professhied. In actuality, despite how he may have said here and there, I don’t believe he saw life as a joke at all. Rather, I think he believed it was just too short & uncertain not to pack in as much fun, adventure & excitement as possible. Like many great adventures, he was also a pioneer & trailblazer. As daringthorpe says, way ahead of his time. All hail Flynn!

I posted above because I have been lamenting since re-discovering Errol in March that for such an intelligent, insightful, talented guy–a guy with zest, depth and intellectual capacity–his public image has long betrayed him to an extent it is a shame.
99% of those so-called his bios or commentaries on the Internet (based on what I have read) all portray him erroneously. What a shame! He was far more intelligent with depth than his public image.
Thus, I feel as his fans it is our responsibility to correct this DRASTICALLY UNFAIR mistake on behalf of our Errol.

Willie Shakespeare surely would have loved to coin that dress rehearsal phrase, Maria, but likelywas waiting for people to forget his possibly conflicting line about “All the World’s a Stage”. So, he let Drake have it, not Sir Francis Drake, Drake Drake. In between the pastor from Covina did a whole sermon with it, back in the 50s.
As for the “Good, Bad, and Ugly” quote, that has to be by one of Clint Eastwood’s wives or girlfriends.
