      Have faith and follow the signs, zacal. As it did for Errol’s character in the film he did with our too-often-forgotten mystery director, your investigation may lead to good things.

      Strange as it may seem, one of his films partially influenced and received a nod in O Brother Where Art Thou. Here’s a shot from the “prison break” scene:

    Hi zacal;
    Don’t mess up your mind – it’s easy! The Big give-away in the clues is: “The Profession of the Character Errol Played in this Movie is One He had Played Before, and One He would Play Again.”
    It therefore can only be “The Green Light” in which Errol plays a doctor again. The title is rather metaphoric!
    I think who we are looking for in this puzzle is Frank Borzage, the director of the movie.
    Take care

      Terrific, Tina! It’s the legendary but much overlooked director Frank Borzage, who directed Errol’s “first modern role” (as a Hollywood Star.) Belief is King Vidor may have based his immensely famous Miss Gulch-on-the-bicycle scene on a scene Borzage directed years earlier. … His “Strange Cargo” was an influence on O Brother.

      Regarding the profession clue, it refers to Errol having played doctors in Captain Blood, Green Light, & Dive Bomber. (Of course, except for other clues, Errol could have also played a pirate, soldier, or cowboy.)

      Not easy at all, Tina. Rather difficult, actually. You are just an extraordinary Flynn scholar.

      Superb work!

      Hi Maria;
      Thank you, maybe just lucky or maybe I just know Errol’s data quite well.
      I am not much on the blog anymore due to certain things, but when looking in on the blog I always enjoy your comments!
      Take care!
