Thanks for dropping in and trying, timerider! It’s not the Sheik of Araby, but the answer is somewhat exotic. Here’s one of Errol’s gorgeous gal pals with some clues.

      And then there’s this:

This is Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue!
The Rolling Thunder Revue was a concert tour by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan with a traveling caravan of notable musicians, including Joan Baez, ROGER McGuinn, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.
        But …..

Hint: focus mainly on the Byrd and birds!!! (Of course, Errol always focused on the birds!)

P.S. In Southeast Asia, on the rare occasions he smoked a pipe, Sean, too, had a passing association with the the third & key word.

Wow – here you go again!
To find a connection between those pictures is a tough job!
    1. picture is Roger McGuinn
    2. picture is Frank Zappa
    3. picture is Dorothy Lamour, the Sarong girl
    4. picture is Joni Mitchell, Both sides, Now – her famous song!
    5. picture is Renaldo and the Clara’s
They are all bands and or singers.

Then you say Byrds is a clue so we have – One Track Mind: The Byrds, “Mr. Tambourine Man” (1965) associated with Roger McGuinn. Also Frank Zappa and Roger McGuinn were associated.

Then there is a pipe somehow BUT how all this comes together is rather bleak.
Just a very wild guess “One Track Mind”? As Errol sometimes had it?!

WOW! That is Flynnsational research, Tina!! Really Awesome. It’s not One Track Mind, but you’re knockin’ on the answer’s door! You’ve actually said one the three words!

I’ll trade you another clue for one on your “What is it?” quiz!

A trade? Great! Gosh mine is so easy compared to yours.
I gave the clue away right in the title!
What is that? Errol is in it?
And I told you that you are so close.

The words I was looking for: UNIFORM of The Charge of the Light Brigade

Okay then! For that I must to give you a really difficult clue, Tina!

Errol may have heard the third word in connection to Tunkabom Creek, in East Sepik Province, PNG.

(The first two words he heard much more frequently all over the world.)

Don’t forget Tunkabom Creek, north of the Sepik, Tina. Errol may have heard the last of the three words in connection with that creek. (To my knowledge, however, The Rolling Thunder Revue never played in East Sepik Province. Though some of the natives may well have appreciated Dylan’s stage makeup on that tour.)

It’s probably that I just gave too many clues, Lollie. Less may have been better. Think words to a song – and one of the words rhymes with song:

I think I have it: ERROL FLYNN SARONG

I wrapped their flag around me
      like an Errol Flynn sarong
and I laid down thinking national
      with Dreamland coming on

      Dreamland (Joni Mitchell)

It’s a long long way to Canada
It’s a long way from sbow chains
      Donkey venders slicing coconut
      No parkas to their name
Black babies covered in baking flour
The cook’s got a carnival song
      Lay down someplace shady
      with Dreamland coming on

      Dreamland, dream on Dreamland

      Walter Raleigh, Chris Columbus
come a-marchin’ out of the waves
and they claim the beach and concessions
in the name of the sun-tan slaves
I wrapped their flag around me
      like an Errol Flynn sarong
and I laid down thinking national
      with Dreamland coming on

Goodtime Mary and the lady soldiers
talking over a glass of rum
      burning on the inside
with a knowledge of things to come
There’s gambling out on the terrace
      Midnight rambling on the lawn
      As they lean towards temptation
      with Dreamland coming on

In a plane flying back to winter
with shoes full of tropic sand
There comes a lady in a foreign flag
on the arm of her Marlboro man
The hawk howls in New York City
      Six-foot drifts on Myrtle’s lawn
as they push the recline buttons down
      with Dreamland coming on

African sand on the Trade Winds
on the sun on the Amazon
      as they lean towards temptation
      with Dreamland coming on

      Roger McGuinn “Cardiff Rose” 1976

        EXCELLENT, Tina!!!!!!!

Sorry to be so “tricky dicky” at times, Tina, but you guys are so good these quizzes would be over in minutes, if I were any less cryptic!

This all relates to the great story of how Roger McGuinn changed the words of a Joni Mitchell song, “Dreamland” to include Errol. Specifically, he changed Joni’s “Dorothy Lamour sarong” to “Errol Flynn sarong” – on Frank Zappa’s tour bus, which Bob Dylan used for his legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour.

Tunkabom Creek, which might have appeared an off-the-wall red herring, was actually a near-giveaway, in that the creek is also known in PNG as “Sarong Creek”.

Out “partying” with some of his news correspondent buddies in Southeast Asia, Sean, on occasion, (along with his friends) don a sarong in some of the local establishments. “A sarong in Saigon” wouldn’t be a bad lyric, either!

So there you have it – the legend behind the “Errol Flynn Sarong” . (It would be cool if one of blog’s great artists did a rendering of Errol in sarong. He would certainly look better than Hope & Crosby did!!)

Fantastic, twinarchers! Not sure what Roger (who couldn’t get much higher) is saying, but Errol certainly did famously make it down to the Polo Lounge on occasion. In fact, whenever Flynn made it, it was an occasion! Indeed, he’s been memorialized in Leroy Neiman’s “Polo Lounge”, with some of Hollywood’s other top heavyweights.
