Domani Vision & Jack Nance Awards at VISIONFEST 08
New York City, (September 22, 2008) – VISIONFEST 08: The Other Festival, ended its five-day run last night, at the Tribeca Grand Hotel Screening Room, with its “closing night” Official Selection, God's Ears, directed by Michael Worth, and its 2008 Awards Ceremony, which saw the aforementioned film walk off with two of the film festival's most coveted awards: the Domani Vision Award for Emerging Talent, and the Jack Nance “Breakthrough Performance” Award. Both awards were presented to Michael Worth; the first honoring him as a filmmaker, and the second, recognizing his powerful acting turn. Worth first took to the podium with his mother, who stated that while she's not a writer, an actor, or a director, she affectionately added: “But I'm a real good producer,” obviously referring to her son as he raised his award in the air. Michael Worth then added: “This is the first time I've ever won anything like this. I'm just really honored.”

Thanks, Senor Bob, I appreciate it. Robbin and I rented a moive theater on Wilshire (can't remember the dumb name at this second but it's one of the old ones with a spire like front not far from La Cienega — Not Fine Arts, is it?) and several hundred people showed up. It got a great reception and I must say it made me (and Rob) feel warm inside. It went on to win best actress at the film festival held every year in Long beach and best-supporting actor – my pal John Saxon — at a festival out in Calabasas. So now this New York victory is especially sweet!
Hopefully, when it is sold by our distributor and goes to DVD it will earn some of our money back.

Many thanks, Karl. As I mentioned in my reply to Robert I felt truly rewarded when everyone gave it such great reviews. The whole movie was made for $100, 000 and yet thanks to many favors from various people, actors to crew to Digital Jungle — it ended up looking like a million dollar production.
I cannot express how lucky I am. To have led this fun life and met all the fun people and to have become successful in my profession — after never finishing high school (in England) is truly proof that anything can be done if you never quit or complain.
