Great, Russ! I have moved the Home Movies clip to the Blog Videos section, as well – since it autoplays and is somewhat annoying to hear playing on the Main Page when it opens…
Well done, Russ! Nice to have them all in one place. A good thing to visit from time to time whenever one gets tired of CGI, explosions, and all the other empty screen-filling nonsense posing as cinema these days. Thanks for all your work!

Thank you very much, Linc, for the compliment!
I searched YouTube and a few other places to see if there was such a compilation out there already; but only found singular duels.
I totally agree about how refreshing it is to see real performances, even if we've watched them over and over, compared to all the cinematic tricks employed these days (although I like some of the computer effects too).

Russ,
I agree that CGI has its place today, in such epics as Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, King Kong, etc., when it serves the story; but when it IS the story (e.g. Independence Day, War of the Worlds), with no real characters to care about, then you long for the good old days of Errol, Clark, Tyrone, Gary, Charlton, and all those other larger-than-life personalities who filled my Saturday afternoons as a boy. And has there ever been a more heart-pumping wedding of action and music than in the duels to the death in Robin Hood and The Sea Hawk? Lord, that music! I wonder – where are the Korngolds and Steiners and Bernsteins of today?
Thanks again,
Linc
