      I’m stunned you would make such a comment about Ward Bond, stingheinz! You know that such remarks are strongly discouraged here!! Ward may have had two four-letter word names, and not been quite as handsone & debonair as Flynn, but even so …. Besides, Duke Wayne did like and hang out with him quite a lot. (Bond, that is, not Sasquatch.)

        Before you stomp me, Gent, let me backpeddle a little. I pondered reporting my comment as completely unrelated to the topic. I even contemplated introducing a new category altogether. But I have to admit ultimately I had an Alan Hale whale of a time slipping that sentence in. As far as the Duke`s entourage goes, didn`t he also like to hang out and about with a certain Bruce Cabot?

          Excellent observations all, heinzsight. I categorically agree — except with concern to Cabot. I believe you may be confusing Backstabbin’ Bruce Cabot with that other Cabot character, World Explorin’John Cabot. Wayne may have rode west with him. Time Will Well.

            Without his buddy Errol, Cabot would have been out of the big picture long ago, but it was the Duke who put him right back in the saddle after a short stint in Italy doing what he was doing best, playing the baddie in B-movies.

              Duke was a king when it came to casting good guys. If Willian Tell wasn’t enough of a tell, those shifty eyes, ill manners and black hat certainly were. … Then again, he did have a golden career in WWII that we should fully consider.

                True, and we must not forget, that he played the lead (besides the ape) in the original King Kong movie, as well as in a flic noir called “Sinner take all”.
