SEE SEAN FLYNN’S SPAGHETTI WESTERN!

Like his father, Sean starred in a western! Made in Spain and Italy in 1965, the English version is now available on YouTube under “Seven Guns for Timothy Spaghetti Western”! Unfortunately it is a pan and scan version. (The wide-screen version is also available on YouTube, but in Spanish under “Siete Pistolas Para Timothy”! The film is a light-hearted variation on the “Magnificent Seven”. His costar is Ida Galli, one of the most beautiful women ever to grace a Euro-western.–A. R.

FYI–THE TCM/NORTH AMERICA cable channel on Tuesday, 12/09/2014 beginning @ 8:00pm EST will feature 5 of Flynn’s films as chosen and hosted by his daughter, Rory Flynn. These of course will feature “Adventures of Robin Hood”, but also “Gentlemen Jim”; “Objective: Burma” and “Never Say Goodbye”; as well as “Rocky Mountain”!–A. R.

Dad in 1956’s Cuba and son in 1963’s Venice. Both with icy blondes and winning the good fight.
Both films made on location.
Errol ends a counterfeiting scam and Sean helps thwart the plans of some spies! Both win the girl! (Rosanna Rory for Errol and Karin Baal for Sean.)
“The Big Boodle” is one of Errol’s later films, but his presence and charisma are undeniable! (Released in the USA in the early part of 1957.)
Sean is good in the action scenes and the film is a good document of its time. (Sean is dubbed in this one , but the dubbing on this film is good. It was sold directly to television syndication in the USA; released theatrically in Europe in 1964, a French, Italian,West German co-production.)
Both films are available on DVD, although Sean’s film can be seen on YouTube.–A. R.
