The Italian Errol!

17 Oct

Have you ever heard Errol speaking Italian?  Here it is – hilarious! The fire in his words – just divine, all of you must watch it – I love it!
He starts speaking in about the middle of the video. I know it isn't him speaking, but a worthwhile minute of your time and you really can see his fabulous acting!

“FLYNN” The Movie!

04 Sep

I hope all of you had a great summer so far! I have been absent for a while due to, visitors, vacation, travel and currently to a cataract operation on one eye, the other will follow .  Such is life in the fast lane – ha, ha – as they say!
A friend of mine, an Errol fan like me found this Australian movie called “Flynn” and send it to me and I am passing it on to you.  I am sure that some of you have seen it but maybe not all of you.  I am for one, who never had the pleasure and maybe there are more of our members who have been out of the loop with this one. I had an inkling that there must exist an Australian bio movie due to some excerpts I saw in the “Tasmanian Devil” and this is it –  “Flynn”.  Guy Pearce an Australian actor plays Errol, although he resembles more to Horst Buchholz than to Errol, and he is only 5'10 and that makes a difference too, but may that be as it is… We have to use our imagination!

You maybe have to download a special Player of which I am giving you the link to be able to view the movie.
Player link:
port25.technet.com…

that is if you have Firefox as your browser.  If you have another browser the movie link will either tell you what Player you need or download the “Free Window Media Player 11” .

The Movie link:

www.cinemanow.com…
or
www.cinemanow.com…
If you have problem let me know maybe I can help. The link also works on Internet Explorer!

It will be interesting to hear what you think of the movie.
Good luck and have fun watching it!
All the best to all of you,
Tina

Update on “Abdul The Damned”

04 Aug

I just received the movie DVD “Abdul The Damned” and it really looks like very much so that Errol was an “Extra” in this movie made in 1934/35.  I would say that I definitely recognized Errol three times as an Extra. Sadly the credits do not list the movie production company where one could inquire to the absolute fact.

It is a good movie and I liked it very much, but it had two more surprised in addition to Errol..
Patric Knowles is in the movie and not on the bottom of the credits – he is in the middle. He plays OMAR, Hilmi Pasha’s Attache and he has one speaking line “But he can abdicate” very close at the end of the movie.
I wonder if Errol and Patric knew each other already in England???
The other surprise – the heroin played by Adrienne Ames, a very beautiful actress, was Bruce Cabot‘s wife from 1933 to 1937 and it says that it was a stormy marriage.
What a small world the acting community actually is or was it just in those days?
That’s all for today!

Documentaries made by Karen Hillhouse (director and writer) – Rudy Behlmer and other notables.

11 Jul

I am wondering if any of our members have any information about these documentaries made about Errol's movies and most important how to acquire copies of them?  These documentaries were made quite recently i.e 2005..
This is the website I found the attached information, but there are a lot more movie documentaries of Errol listed on the website:  www.imdb.com…
Looking forward to your replies!
Thank you,
Tina

Lincoln Douglas Hurst

11 Jul

I just found out that Lincoln Douglas Hurst, born on May 6, 1946 died on November 11, 2008; now knowing this, I am wondering about his so called forthcoming book advertised by the Internet book sellers i.e. Amazon etc. ““Errol Flynn: The True Adventures
of a Real-Life Rogue” –
who is the rogue here?
If he died in 2008 how can this book be published in 2010, in particular since I am waiting for my order to be filled since January 2010 with Amazon and have not received any notice that the book will not be forth coming.  On the contrary, I receive notices to the fact “If I wish to remain on the waiting list” and that to this day.
Anybody having any information to this mystery?

This book is still advertised on amazon to this minute as

Errol Flynn: The True Adventures of a Real-Life Rogue

Happy Birthday Errol!

20 Jun

Happy Birthday Errol!

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like we, they long to be
Close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like we, they long to be
Close to you.

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to create a dream to behold
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair
And starlight in your eyes of gold.

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around.
Just like we, belong to be
Close to you.
