Errol Flynn vs Fidler Fracas and the Follow-Up! 1941

On September 20th, 1941, Errol Flynn and columnist Jimmie Fidler got into a scuffle at the Mocambo night spot. The incident made some small headlines the next day along with a lot of gossip and speculation. Perhaps one of the best coverages of the story appeared on this page of the Movie-Radio Guide of the 27th.

Top’s Trivia! Errol Flynn Cameos!

There has always been great speculation about Flynn’s three supposed cameos: 1944 ,he was “seen” as a walk-on in Lady From Shanghai.
In 1946, he, and Alexis Smith, “did a cameo” in the film Always Together,and in 1951, while in France, he was “in the crowd” in Pardon My French.
These three un-credited examples will continue to baffle Flynn fans.
But…without a cameo appearance … Flynn has been referred to directly in another
picture. I present a single screengrab from the 1952, Crosby and Hope comedy, Road to Bali. To appreciate the reference, may I suggest, finding the film (was on YouTube) and watching
it from 17:05 minutes into the film to approximately 17:55 minutes. It all makes silly sense.

Errol in the Dawn Patrol Makeup Chair!

Errol is busy in the middle of the month of August, 1938, working on Dawn Patrol. These pics show how the make-up was applied, the old-fashioned way without any special equipment or applicators. Just blow it on. It came out just right.
A couple of related candid shots about a real war hero and the planes they used during the making of the picture.

Portraits, Portraits, Portraits! Errol Flynn at Warner Bros!

The most portraits officially taken of Errol Flynn were during his time with Warmer Bros., of course, also known as glamour shots. These are pictures specifically shot just of Flynn. No other persons, no movie stills, no candids or special events. These were marked with E.F. and a number (e.g. E.F.308).
His career in the U.S. photo studios began with E.F.1 at WB in late November/early December of 1934, shot by Scotty Welbourne, and ended with E.F.608 at WB on December 17, 1957.
