Some quotes out of Adventures of Don Juan

Adventures of Don Juan Title

My favorite one is:

Duke the Lorca:

Next time I cut more deeply.

Don Juan:

Next time I wear my old clothes. (I love that change of expression for looking worried to that great smile and deliver that great unforgettable line)

Don Juan:

My dear friend, there’s a little bit of Don Juan in every man, and since I am Don Juan, there must be more of it in me!

Don Juan:
The sword is not for a traitor. You’ll die by the knife!

Don Juan:
Catherine, an artist may paint a thousand canvases before achieving one work of art. Would you deny a lover the same practice?

Don Juan:
Beloved, no power on Earth could’ve kept me from you. In all the world there’s been but one image in my heart, one vision before my eyes…

Catherine:
Yes, yes, go on…

Don Juan:
I have loved you since the beginning of time.

Catherine:
But you only met me yesterday…

Don Juan:
Why, that was when time began!

Catherine:
But how long will you love me?

Don Juan:
Sweet lady, love is not measured in terms of time, only in ecstasy!

Duke de Lorca:
May I remind you, my dear fellow, that in a conflict one must choose a side. The middle ground is frequently the most dangerous.

Don Juan:
I’ve been in the middle so many times, your grace… it doesn’t disturb me.

Don Juan:
A man gives up everything: a rich full life and the first time he tries to be utterly sincere, what happens?

Leporello:
That’s exactly what I’m trying to find out.

Don Juan:
Well, mind your own business!

King Phillip III:
We consider Don Lorca the greatest living duelist in Spain.

Don Juan:
That’s certainly the mark of a good duelist, you majesty – to be living.

EF TV

Dear fellow Flynn fans,

Errol was one of the most exposed movie stars of his time. His high and lowlights were documented all to well.

He did not shy away from the small screen either. Apparently he considered television as bonafide media to get his image across. In the paper clip above he was invited to Ken Murray’s Show of the Week in a segment called “Hollywood, my hometown”.

I wonder if anybody has seen this and furthermore knows of equally little known TV appearances of our Hollywood hero. Blog away dates, titles, co-stars and most of all… memories!

Enjoy

Question mark

ef cufflinks gold coloured

I always was very much intrigued by Errol´s private question mark symbol since he visited the Metropolitan Museum in NYC intrigued by a Gauguin exhibition. I innovated on it a little bit and had it embroidered on some of my best shirts. I have posted it years ago on the blog. Right or wrong I feel very comfortable with it as a tribute to my hero and I feel I have a few things in common with him. By the way, the cufflinks are Errol´s as well.

Source: Yours truly!

In should`ve been Flynn 4

www.youtube.com…

Dear fellow Flynn fans,

after expanding the tights of Sir Robin of Locksley, almost every other historic figure was projected onto our Hollywood hero.
This this is the cloak blog of probable prominent roles that didn´t make the cut.
Errol pondered the likes of El Cid, Michael Collins and Simon De Bolivar and at some time also the story of George Danton, the charismatic bonvivant French revolutionary, whose career was cut short by his moralist antagonist Robespierre.
Once again in turbulent times of suppression, one man risks his life for his people.
That is the common denominator in all the beforementioned biographies. With a script like that, studios always came lookin` for Flynn.
Pardon my French, here is the film in its original language: www.youtube.com…

Enjoy,
